Have you ever wondered what it means to plead the blood of Jesus? You can learn to take the power of the blood and apply it to any situation! Here’s how.
The attacks of the enemy can often seem relentless. He comes to attack our money, our homes, our children, our health and even our morality through temptation. But here’s something he doesn’t want you to know—he has no legal right to any part of your life.
When Jesus shed His blood on the cross, He accomplished more than Redemption and remission of sins. The blood of Jesus reversed every part of the curse. That includes sickness, disease, poverty, lack, depression, strife, addiction or any type of bondage to sin. It’s done. Finished. Over. History. Those things have no legal right to be in your life any longer.
Why?
The blood of Jesus covered it all.
Revelation 12:11 tells us that believers overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony, or confession. So, when Satan comes to attack in any area, you plead the blood of Jesus. When He tries to tempt you, you plead the blood. When he tries to bring fear or torment, you plead the blood.
The term “pleading the blood” might sound like begging, but it isn’t begging at all. “Pleading the blood” is actually a legal term. Think of it like a lawyer pleading his case before the judge. He presents evidence and facts to support his case.
Our evidence?

The blood of Jesus covers it all.
Another way to describe pleading the blood of Jesus is to apply the blood to a situation in our lives. There’s protection in the blood. There’s deliverance in the blood. When you plead the blood, you have laid down your case and put your entire confidence on an oath that is covenant-sworn by Almighty God.
To effectively plead the blood of Jesus, you need to know what you’re doing.  You can make pleading the blood of Jesus part of every day! Here are some ideas to get you started:
  1. You can plead the blood of Jesus over any person or situation. As your children walk out the door, lay your hands on their heads and say, “In the Name of Jesus, I plead the blood of Jesus over [name].” As you drive, say, “In the Name of Jesus, I plead the blood of Jesus over this vehicle and all who are in it. We will go and come back in perfect safety.”
  2. You can plead the blood of Jesus over your health. There was once a woman who was stung by a venomous scorpion. Everyone around her expected her to be in quickly become ill. But, instead, she pled the blood of Jesus against any harm coming to her, and she walked away completely untouched! That’s the power of the blood!
  3. You can plead the blood of Jesus over your home. When you apply the blood of Jesus to your home and property, you are disarming the devil and every planned attempt against you. It stops demons in their tracks and removes all wrong spirits from working against you or your family.
  4. You can plead the blood as often as you like. Billye Brim pleads the blood of Jesus over her family, ministry, home and town every day. Here is an example of what she says:

Kingdom of darkness, you listen up right now. My Father told me in Colossians that I am translated out the authority of the kingdom of darkness and into the Kingdom of Light.  Now, listen to me.  I take that authority over you.  And here's who you don't bother today.  I plead the blood of Jesus over my four children: Shelli, Terri, Brenda, Chip, their mates and their children.  In the Name of Jesus, I plead the blood of Jesus over the good works God has ordained I should walk in.  You stay away from my ministry and my church and my town.
When you learn how to plead the blood of Jesus, you are taking the power and authority granted to you by God Himself and putting it to work in your life, just as He intended. Nothing can stand against the power of the blood! So, start pleading the blood of Jesus in your life with confidence and boldness, and watch the devil flee!
