Prayer Watches of The Night 6PM – 9PM
We thank you Lord to be able to come before your presence during these first prayer watches of the night 6PM – 9PM. We long to be in your presence during the times of prayer watches as we meditate and pray forth your Word.
My eyes wait for the night hours, so I may think about Your Word.
Understanding The Prayer Watches:
The first watch of the night is the time in which we are to possess the gates. All time has a gate of entrance. There is a gateway of entrance for years, months, weeks, days and hours. We must use the entrance of time between 6 pm – 9 pm to possess the first gate by way of prayer during the first prayer watch. This is the gate for the beginning of the new day.
Gates of The City
Have you ever noticed the signs at the entrance or gate of a city. You will typically see these welcome signs on the side of the road as you enter into a new city.
Along with a big hello and welcome to our town, you will also see the names of organizations that control and have a stronghold spirit over that particular city. These are the strongholds that hold the key to that city. Whoever possesses the gates possesses and controls everything.
Watch and pray, so that you do not enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
What To Pray For During The Prayer Watches of The Night 6PM – 9PM
A release of God’s blessings as we silence all demonic voices and curses from the enemy. We must pray for a shift in the atmosphere and a spiritual change in the environment over the following:

- Families
- Churches
- Communities and Cities
- Nation
Pray The Word of God And Posses The Gates
Genesis 22:16-18
“By myself I have sworn,” this is the Lord’s declaration: “Because you have done this thing and have not withheld your only son, I will indeed bless you and make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the city gates of their enemies. And all the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring because you have obeyed my command.”
Genesis 24:60
They blessed Rebekah, saying to her:
Our sister, may you become
Thousands upon ten thousands.
May your offspring possess
The city gates of their enemies.

Here is what I tell you. You are Peter. On this rock I will build my church. The gates of hell will not be strong enough to destroy it.
Pray For Our Children
During this first prayer watch of the night, the Lord instructs us to cry aloud and pray for our children. We should specifically be praying for those who are out on the streets hungry and begging for food. Many times we take for granted that we and our family have a house, food and clothes, but we forget about those who struggle everyday with getting the basic needs. Cry out loud in this prayer watch for these babies and ask the Lord to meet their needs.
Lamentations 2:19
Arise, cry aloud in the night,
At the beginning of the night watches;
Pour out your heart like water
Before the presence of the Lord;
Lift up your hands to Him
For the life of your little ones
Who are faint from hunger
At the head of every street.”
Prayer For 6PM – 9PM
Possess The Gates
By the authority given to us in the Name of Jesus, we take possession of the gates of our city against the enemy and the workers of iniquity. We render every curse ineffective and speak blessings at the gates of our cities. We speak God’s Word during this time, and we declare blessings into the atmosphere. As the Word of God penetrates the realm of darkness, let His light shine forth and be seen in the lives of all God’s children.
We cry out this evening for our children Lord. Cover and bless them Lord. So many of our children are out in the streets with no food, clothes or shelter. Watch over the Lord as only You can and meet every need. Bless their families and make provisions for their needs to be met both naturally and spiritually. We thank you Lord for Your power that draws people from darkness into your marvelous light. Let the eyes of the blind be turned from darkness to light, and the eyes of their understanding be enlightened. Let the Word of God destroy every word curse and release the anointing which breaks all yokes of bondage.
In the name of Jesus we have power over the gates of hell to release our family, our churches, our cities and our nations from every attack of the wicked one. We silence the voice of every demonic and lying spirit. We declare that lying lips and those who speak arrogantly in pride and contempt against the righteous are brought to silence. Thank you Father for the promise that we will posses the city gates of our enemies. We stand in Faith and we stand in your Word this evening in Jesus mighty name.

We thank you Lord to be able to come before your presence during this 9PM -12AM prayer watch of the night. Father, we long to be in your presence as we enter into this second watch of the night as we meditate and pray forth your word and your faithful promises to us.
Psalm 119:148
I stay awake through the night, thinking about your promise.
Understanding The Prayer Watches
During the second watch of the night in the prayer watches of the night 9PM – 12AM, is the time in which we are to exalt the name of the Lord. It is the special time for dreams and divine favor from God and man. This is the time to make your request known to the Lord as the angels ascend into heaven with prayer request and descend to earth with answers. It is during this prayer watch that you receive freedom from every limitation. The door is open for strength, ability, abundant supply and provision. This is the time for plundering your enemies.
Favor With God And Man
We read in the book of Exodus how God had given the Israelites favor with the Egyptians and provided them with everything they requested before they left Egypt. This occurred during the night after the Passover feast and before midnight because the Lord said He would send the angel of death to pass through Egypt at midnight.

And I will cause the Egyptians to look favorably on you. They will give you gifts when you go so you will not leave empty-handed. Every Israelite woman will ask for articles of silver and gold and fine clothing from her Egyptian neighbors and from the foreign women in their houses. What To Pray For During The Prayer Watches of The Night 9PM – 12AM
Pray The Word of God
Jacob left Beersheba and went to Haran. The sun had already set when he came to a good place to spend the night. He took a rock there and laid his head on it to sleep. Jacob had a dream. He dreamed there was a ladder that was on the ground and reached up into heaven. He saw the angels of God going up and down the ladder.
Then Jesus went back to his followers [disciples] and found them asleep. He said to Peter, “You men could not stay awake [watch] with me for one hour? Stay awake [Keep watch] and pray for strength against temptation [or not to fail the test]. The spirit wants to do what is right [is willing], but the body [or human nature; the flesh] is weak.”
Get Ready To Move During This Prayer Watch

Prayer For 9PM – 12 AM
Father In The Name of Jesus,
We thank you this evening for bringing us into the second watch of the night. We exalt You and lift Your name on high. You are worthy to be praised and worshiped. We thank you for your help and protection from the enemy. As we will look to You for your help, we proclaim that You are our great protector. You stand by our side both day and night to protect our souls from every danger.
We thank you for delivering us from every temptation, trial and tribulation that comes our way. As we speak the Word of God this evening, we give voice to your Word. As we give voice to Your Word, Your mighty warrior angels that excel in strength hear us and carry out Your commands. You are our faithful God that watches over your Word to perform it.
Jesus Is The Door
Father we know that you hear and will answer our prayers according to Your Word. Give us ears to hear your voice and hearts to obey You completely. Thank you for being our Passover Lamb Jesus. You are the Door by which we enter in and find rest for our weary souls. As we enter in the Door the blood on the doorpost signifies the blood that you shed on Calvary for us. We rejoice that we belong to You Jesus and that You are our Redeemer. It is through Your precious blood that we are sanctified and we draw near to the Father.
We Have Favor With God and Man
As we enter boldly into the Holy of Holies on this evening we ask you Father to bless us and favor us with divine transfer. As we prepare for deliverance Lord, give us favor with our enemies that we will not leave out empty handed. Fill our bags and purses with the treasures of the land. Whatever we ask for it shall be given unto us in this hour. We strip the enemy of all his wealth. We rejoice that the wealth of the sinner is stored up for those who are right with You God.
Thank you for Your prophetic dreams, open visions, divine revelation, wisdom and understanding during this watch. We thank you for the angels that are ascending into heaven with our prayers and descending onto earth with our answers. Just like Daniel, we know that you hear our prayers Father and we wait in faith for you to answer. Our faith is being sure we will get what we hope for. It is being sure of what we cannot see with our natural senses.
Our Senses Are Trained
Help us Lord to move past our natural senses and operate in our spiritual senses. Our senses are trained by practice to distinguish between what is morally good and what is evil. Give us mouths, that speak your Word and eyes that see Your revelation. Give us ears that hear Your truth and a nose that can smell the sweet aroma of sacrifice. Hands that handle the Word of Life skillfully. Grant me feet that run fast like a deer and tread on my high places. May my voice be lifted up to sing of the goodness and majesty of the Lord.
Help us Lord to not fall into temptation during this hour. Our spirit is willing to do what is right but our flesh is weak. Strengthen us Father to not be weary, but to press through in prayer and supplication. Thank you for Your joy because we know that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Your word says that You give power to the tired and worn out, and strength to the weak. Lord, You are my strength, my song, and my salvation. You are my God, and I will praise and exalt You forevermore!

A Final Word
This is the prayer watch for protection, strength, provision and urgency. This is the time to make sure we are girded up in our war clothes wearing our breastplate of righteousness, our belt of truth, helmet of salvation, shoes of peace, the shield of faith and the sword of the spirit in our hand ready to move out in urgency and war for the next watch of the night is fierce!
Ephesians 6:10-18
A Final Word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Put On The Whole Armor of God
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

We thank you Lord to be able to come before your presence during these third prayer watches of the night 12AM – 3AM. We long to be in your presence during the times of prayer watches as we meditate and pray forth your Word.
Psalm 119:62
At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You, Because of Your righteous judgments.
Understanding The Prayer Watches And Their Meaning:
The third prayer watches of the night 12AM – 3AM is one of the most important watches. During this watch, spiritual warfare takes place and satanic activities are heightened. It is during this watch that Satan operates the most because this is the time that sound sleep falls upon man and there are less prayer warriors up to cover this watch.
This is the watch to pray against all sexual immorality such as fornication, adultery, prostitution, orgies, occult sexual activities, homosexuality, sexual abuse and rape. This is the time to awake out of sleep and confront every storm that has been coming against your life that you may have rest and peace in God.
It is in this watch that the destroying angel goes through communities, cities, nations and the world to bring death. It is time for dreams and visions and it is also time for miracles to be performed as well as covenants to be remembered.

Divine Protection
During this watch we pray for God’s divine protection from our enemies. God sends His divine protection to cover us from evening, throughout the night and into the morning. We shall not be afraid of our enemies because God has us covered under the shadow of His Wings.
Psalm 91:5
You will not be afraid of trouble at night, or of the arrow that flies by day.
Isaiah 17:14
At night In the time of evening the people will be very frightened [look/behold, terror!]. Before morning, no one will be left [the enemy will be gone; he is no more]. This is the fate [portion] of those who steal from [plunder] us, and what happens to [the lot of] those who rob [loot] us.
Deliverance From Our Enemies
During the third prayer watches of the night 12AM – 3AM the Lord is faithful to deliver us from our enemies. He delivers our enemies into our hands and gives us the victory over them.
Judges 7:9
During the night the Lord spoke to Gideon and said, “Get up. I will let you defeat the Midianite army. Go down to their camp.
Judges 7:19
It was just after midnight and the change of guards when Gideon and the hundred men with him crept to the outer edge of the camp of Midian. Suddenly they blew their trumpets and broke their clay jars so that their torches blazed into the night. Then the other two hundred of his men did the same, blowing the trumpets in their right hands, and holding the flaming torches in their left hands, all shouting, “For the Lord and for Gideon!”
Release From Demonic Prisons and Strongholds
It is at the midnight hour that the captives are set free. This is the hour in which we are to pray and sing praises to God. Sing songs of deliverance because the Lord of Host is our defense! As we pray and sing the prisoners will hear us in the spirit and the chains will be broken and fall off.
Acts 16:25-34
Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!
The jailer woke up to see the prison doors wide open. He assumed the prisoners had escaped, so he drew his sword to kill himself. But Paul shouted to him, “Stop! Don’t kill yourself! We are all here!” The jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.” And they shared the word of the Lord with him and with all who lived in his household.
Even at that hour of the night, the jailer cared for them and washed their wounds. Then he and everyone in his household were immediately baptized. He brought them into his house and set a meal before them, and he and his entire household rejoiced because they all believed in God.

Dreams and Visions Activated
During this prayer watch, our dreams and visions are activated. As we rest in the Lord and worship in His presence, He speaks to us in dreams and open visions. Holy Spirit opens our spiritual eyes to see and discern in the spirit realm. He brings us into visions and and reveals divine revelation wisdom and knowledge to us. It is only by the Holy Spirit that we are to enter in
Genesis 46:1-3
God said to Israel in a vision at night, “Jacob! Jacob!” and he said, “I’m here.”
Job 4:13
A word came to me in secret— a mere whisper of a word, but I heard it clearly. It came in a scary dream one night, after I had fallen into a deep, deep sleep. Dread stared me in the face, and Terror. I was scared to death—I shook from head to foot. A spirit glided right in front of me— the hair on my head stood on end. I couldn’t tell what it was that appeared there— a blur . . . and then I heard a muffled voice
Ezekiel 8:2-4
Then I saw something that looked like an arm. The arm reached out and grabbed me by the hair on my head. Then the Spirit lifted me into the air, and in a vision from God he took me to Jerusalem. He took me to the inner gate—the gate that is on the north side. The statue that makes God jealous is by that gate.
The Stairway To Heaven
This watch opens up dreams and visions. Pray that the Lord will speak to the hearts of men in their dreams and reveal Himself to them in visions of the night. The stairway to heaven has angels ascending with our prayers and descending with our answers during the night watches.
Genesis 28:10-19
Meanwhile, Jacob left Beersheba and traveled toward Haran. At sundown he arrived at a good place to set up camp and stopped there for the night. Jacob found a stone to rest his head against and lay down to sleep. As he slept, he dreamed of a stairway that reached from the earth up to heaven. And he saw the angels of God going up and down the stairway.
At the top of the stairway stood the Lord, and he said, “I am the Lord, the God of your grandfather Abraham, and the God of your father, Isaac. The ground you are lying on belongs to you. I am giving it to you and your descendants.
Your descendants will be as numerous as the dust of the earth! They will spread out in all directions—to the west and the east, to the north and the south. And all the families of the earth will be blessed through you and your descendants.
What’s more, I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go. One day I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have finished giving you everything I have promised you.” Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I wasn’t even aware of it!”
But he was also afraid and said, “What an awesome place this is! It is none other than the house of God, the very gateway to heaven!”
The next morning Jacob got up very early. He took the stone he had rested his head against, and he set it upright as a memorial pillar. Then he poured olive oil over it. He named that place Bethel (which means “house of God”), although it was previously called Luz.
Angelic Intervention
During the third prayer watches of the night 12AM – 3AM there is tremendous spiritual warfare and angelic activity taking place. The Angel of the Lord stands in our defense and fights for us during the prayer watches of the night 12AM – 3AM. It is during this watch that the angels of the Lord assist in deliverance for God’s people.
2 Kings 19:32-35
And my command concerning the king of Assyria is that he shall not enter this city. He shall not stand before it with a shield, nor build a ramp against its wall, nor even shoot an arrow into it. He shall return by the road he came, for I will defend and save this city for the sake of my own name and for the sake of my servant David.’”
That very night the Angel of the Lord killed 185,000 Assyrian troops, and dead bodies were seen all across the landscape in the morning.
Pray For Marriages
This is the hour for us to pray for marriages. We should pray for purity in marriages and that husbands and wives come together as one flesh. Pray that there be no division between the two and that Satan will have no access into the marriages. We should pray for intimacy, love and purity in marriages. Let us also pray for God’s original plan for marriage to be restored to the hearts and minds of the people.
Ruth 3:7-11
So she went down to the threshing floor that night and followed her mother-in-law’s instructions. After Boaz had finished a good meal, he lay down very contentedly beside a heap of grain and went to sleep.
Then Ruth came quietly and lifted the covering off his feet and lay there. Suddenly, around midnight, he wakened and sat up, startled. There was a woman lying at his feet!
“Who are you?” he demanded. “It’s I, sir—Ruth,” she replied. “Make me your wife according to God’s law, for you are my close relative.”
“Thank God for a girl like you!” he exclaimed. “For you are being even kinder to Naomi now than before. Naturally you’d prefer a younger man, even though poor. But you have put aside your personal desires. Now don’t worry about a thing, my child; I’ll handle all the details, for everyone knows what a wonderful person you are.
Bridegroom Coming For His Bride
It is during the midnight hour that the cry goes out that the bridegroom is coming for his bride. This signifies the prophetic call that goes forth to tell tell the church to get ready Christ is coming back for His bride. Like the 5 wise virgins we should heed the call and begin to prepare ourselves to go into the wedding feast with Christ.
Matthew 25:1-6
At that time God’s kingdom will be like ten girls who went to wait for the bridegroom. They took their lamps with them. Five of the girls were foolish, and five were wise. The foolish girls took their lamps with them, but they did not take extra oil for the lamps. The wise girls took their lamps and more oil in jars. When the bridegroom was very late, the girls could not keep their eyes open, and they all fell asleep. “At midnight someone announced, ‘The bridegroom is coming! Come and meet him!’
Keep Oil In Your Lamps
In this watch it is vital to make sure you keep oil in your lamp. The five wise virgins had enough oil in their lamps. In the midnight hour or the last days we must be full of Holy Spirit. We must carry enough oil in our lamps where the light of Christ continuously burns within us and it never goes out. We must pray that we are prepared and have enough Holy Spirit within us to endure to the end.
Matthew 25:7-13
Then all the girls woke up. They made their lamps ready. But the foolish girls said to the wise girls, ‘Give us some of your oil. The oil in our lamps is all gone.’ The wise girls answered, No! The oil we have might not be enough for all of us. But go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.
So the foolish girls went to buy oil. While they were gone, the bridegroom came. The girls who were ready went in with the bridegroom to the wedding feast. Then the door was closed and locked.
Later, the other girls came. They said, ‘Sir, sir! Open the door to let us in.’ But the bridegroom answered, ‘Certainly not! I don’t even know you.’ So always be ready. You don’t know the day or the time when the Son of Man will come.
Exodus 27:20
You shall command the Israelites to provide you with clear oil of beaten olives for the light, to make a lamp burn continually every night
Peace and Calm
During this prayer watch pray for peace and calmness. Because there is tremendous warfare during this watch, the enemy will use the spirit of fear to hinder you from moving forth in prayer. The Prince of Peace is with you and He will bring a calm to any storm the enemy tries to create.

Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples. Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown! Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm. The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!”

You, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know when the master of the household will return—in the evening, at midnight, before dawn, or at daybreak.
Provisions Met
Luke 11:5-9
Then, teaching them more about prayer, he used this story: “Suppose you went to a friend’s house at midnight, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread.
You say to him, ‘A friend of mine has just arrived for a visit, and I have nothing for him to eat.’ And suppose he calls out from his bedroom, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is locked for the night, and my family and I are all in bed. I can’t help you.’
But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence.
“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
Protection
Exodus 12:12-13
For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.
Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.
Exodus 12:29-30
At midnight the Lord killed all the first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of Pharaoh who sat on the throne to the first-born of the one who was held in prison, and all the first-born of the cattle. Pharaoh got up in the night, he and his servants and all the Egyptians. And there was a loud cry in Egypt. For there was no home where there was not someone dead.
Pray Against Sexual Sins of All Types
While they were enjoying themselves, a crowd of troublemakers from the town surrounded the house. They began beating at the door and shouting to the old man,
Bring out the man who is staying with you so we can have sex with him.
The old man stepped outside to talk to them. “No, my brothers, don’t do such an evil thing. For this man is a guest in my house, and such a thing would be shameful. Father In The Name of Jesus,
We thank you for this time to come before your presence during this third watch of the night. Help us Holy Spirit like the five wise virgins to keep our lamps burning with oil. Help us to burn with your Holy Spirit and Your fire! We thank you Lord for giving us spiritual eyes to see. Thank you for removing the scales from our eyes that we may discern the time and season that we are living in.
We thank you for shaking us out of our slumber and giving us ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the church. Thank you and for giving us an understanding heart to know that the bridegroom is coming. Help us Lord to prepare ourselves with a pure heart and clean hands. Let there be healing and restoration of marriages tonight.
Bind and Loose
We bind every spirit of division, jealousy, sorcery, adultery, lust, perversion, addictions, homosexuality and perversion. Every lying spirit, witchcraft, spirit of whoredoms, and pride. We loose the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, deliverance, a spirit of holiness and the love of God. Right now we come boldly before the throne as we petition, intercede and pray tonight against all sexual immorality, fornication, adultery, prostitution, sex trades, child abductions, occult sexual activities, homosexuality, perversion, sexual abuse and rape. We pray for a spirit of holiness and purity over our cities, states, provinces, and nations.
The Gates of The City
In the name of Jesus, we take possession of the enemies gates. We bind the gatekeeper and strongman at the gates of the city that would try to block us from entering in. Strengthen the bars of our gates and break the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron. Thank you for being our strength Lord as you teach our hands to war and our fingers to fight.
Let the gates of our region be shut to all uncleanness, witchcraft, drugs, perversion and every type of wickedness in the name of Jesus. We bind and cancel all dark and wicked meetings and secret business trades that take place after midnight throughout our region. Prayer Watch 3AM – 6AM
We thank you Lord that we are able to come before your presence during this fourth watch of the night. hours of the fourth prayer watch 3AM – 6AM. We long to be in your presence and meditate on your word in this prayer watch 3am – 6am. As we press in prayer we ask You Lord to come into our prayer time with us, be with us and protect us from the evil one and the workers of iniquity.
Mark 6:45-51
After everyone had their meal, Jesus instructed his disciples to get back into the boat and go on ahead of him and sail to the other side to Bethsaida. So he dispersed the crowd, said good-bye to his disciples, then slipped away to pray on the mountain.
As night fell, the boat was in the middle of the lake and Jesus was alone on land. The wind was against the disciples and he could see that they were straining at the oars, trying to make headway.
When it was almost morning, Jesus came to them, walking on the surface of the water, and he started to pass by them. When they all saw him walking on the waves, they thought he was a ghost and screamed out in terror. But he said to them at once, “Don’t yield to fear. Have courage. It’s really me—I Am!”
Then he came closer and climbed into the boat with them, and immediately the stormy wind became still. They were completely and utterly overwhelmed with astonishment
Understanding The Prayer Watches:
The 3am – 6am prayer watch is the fourth and last watch of the night. This is the watch where there is an heightened amount of satanic activity and supernatural occurrences. This is the watch also known in folklore as the witching hour or devil’s hour. According to Wikipedia, it is a time of night associated with supernatural events.
Creatures such as witches, demons and ghosts are thought to appear and to be at their most powerful activities during the hours between 3am and 4am. In the Western Christian tradition, the hour between 3am and 4 am was considered a period of peak supernatural activity, due to the absence of prayers in the canonical hours during this period. Women caught outside without sufficient reason during this time were sometimes executed on suspicion of witchcraft. This is the time of night when Jesus disciples were out on the water and thought they saw a ghost.
During this watch, those involved in witchcraft, the occult, new age, and satanic worship are usually performing their activities through astral projection. Before the breaking of dawn, they are returning back to their bases or bodies. It is during this time that these workers of darkness are running back ‘home’ so that they are not caught outside their physical bodies.
The Witching Hour
Although the night watches fall between 6pm to 6am, the most intense battle is felt in the final fourth watch during 3AM to 6AM. This is the time before the dawn breaks and the shaking begins. It is especially between the hours of 12 midnight and 3:00 AM that the workers of the kingdom of darkness heighten their satanic activities.
The hour between 3am – 4am is known as the witching hour. It is during this hour that people are more likely to see ghost or sense a heavy presence of spiritual beings. It is right before the breaking of dawn, around 5am that the workers of darkness cease their activities before the dayspring or breaking of dawn comes forth to shake out the wicked.
Testimonies of former witches that have to been converted to Christianity tell of their experiences where when they went out of their bodies on witchcraft assignments through astral projection, they had to return into their bodies before 6:00 AM, otherwise they wouldn’t have been able to. This is because they would have been shaken out by the dawn’s light according to the Book of Job. The Book of Ecclesiastes talks about the silver cord of life that snaps. You will hear many witches and new age practitioners speak about this cord while they practice astral projection.

Blessings Released
In this prayer watch, we engage in intense spiritual warfare, we must be persistent and relentless for our blessings to be released. It was during this watch Jacob wrestled with God all night for his life and would not let Him go until the Lord blessed him. Jacob won the fight and found favor with God and man during this watch.
Genesis 32:24-30
Jacob was left alone, and a man came and wrestled with him. The man fought with him until the sun came up. When the man saw that he could not defeat Jacob, he touched Jacob’s leg and put it out of joint. Then the man said to Jacob, “Let me go. The sun is coming up.” But Jacob said, “I will not let you go. You must bless me.” And the man said to him, “What is your name?” And Jacob said, “My name is Jacob.” Then the man said, “Your name will not be Jacob. Your name will now be Israel.

To wrestle in this context means:
1: to float away as vapor, to bedust (to cover with dust)
2: grapple (engage in a close fight or struggle without weapons; wrestle)
3: light particles
James 4:14
But you do not know what will happen tomorrow! Your life is like a mist [vapor; puff of smoke]. You can see it [It appears] for a short time, but then it goes away.
Intense Spiritual Warfare
During the fourth prayer watch of the night, we wrestle for our lives. There may be times when you wake up in the morning only to find that you are more tired than when you went to sleep. This is the time when we are in our deepest sleep and we war in the spirit. Pray for God’s divine favor and protection as we engage in spiritual warfare.
During this watch, pray that God will throw the enemy into confusion and prevent him from pursuing you. You will usually find that women who are in physically abusive relationships will try to leave their abusers during the night before dawn breaks. Pray that God will give you wisdom for the battle to defeat the enemy. This type of warfare during the night season causes a physical drain on our bodies as we sleep but our spirit man is well equipped as we are fully dressed in the armor of the Lord.

Our fight is not against people on earth. We are fighting against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness. We are fighting against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly places.
Communion With The Lord
During this watch, we pray for divine favor and blessings to be lighted upon our lives. When the Lord returns and finds His servants watching He will come and commune with us.
Psalm 77:6
I commune with my heart in the night; I meditate and search my spirit
In this fourth watch of the night, we wait upon and commune with God. This is the watch in which are to be found spiritually awake, alert and watching. This is the time when darkness ends and the breaking of dawn begins. We must be spiritually awake and alert to what the Lord is doing in this hour.
Luke 12:37-38
Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are those servants whom the master finds awake and alert and watching when he comes. Truly I say to you, he will gird himself and have them recline at table and will come and serve them! If he comes in the second watch (before midnight) or the third watch (after midnight), and finds them so, blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are those servants!
Divine Favor and Blessings
The windows of heaven are open for God to pour out His blessings upon His people. It is a time for revival and resurrection life. The name Eutychus means (well fated, fortunate, good and well done.) The book of Acts gives us a depiction of how we must be careful that we don’t fall from the high places in God. The time was late and the midnight hour had approached, which represents the end times we are currently living in. The upper room chamber and room with many lights represents the Holy of Holies and the presence of God.
Eutychus was listening to the preached word, but fell into a deep sleep that caused him to fall out the window to his death. It was by the grace and favor of God that he was revived and resurrected back to life.
Revival and Resurrection Life
During this prayer watch is the time where sleep falls heavy on people. It is only by the grace and favor of God that He awakens us and breathes the breath of life into us again each morning. Brand new mercies He gives us each morning.
Acts 20:7-12
On Sunday we all met together to eat the Lord’s Supper. Paul talked to the group. Because he was planning to leave the next day, he continued talking until midnight. We were all together in a room upstairs, and there were many lights in the room. There was a young man named Eutychus sitting in the window. Paul continued talking, and Eutychus became very, very sleepy. Finally, he went to sleep and fell out of the window. He fell to the ground from the third floor. When the people went down and lifted him up, he was dead.
Paul went down to where Eutychus was, knelt down beside him, and put his arms around him. He said to the other believers, “Don’t worry. He is alive now.” Then Paul went upstairs again, broke off some pieces of bread and ate. He spoke to them a long time. It was early morning when he finished, and then he left. The Lord’s followers took Eutychus home alive, and they were all greatly comforted.
Rest From The Cares of Life
Pray for peace of mind from the issues of life that concern us and keep us awake. It is during the night watches that the enemy will bring all the financial, job and family issues to your mind. Many suffer from insomnia and don’t get the proper sleep at night. They long for the night to end so they can wake up and busy themselves again. Rest does not come easy for them. Pray for the peace of God to cover your mind and that you will find sweet sleep.
Job 7:1-4
How mankind must struggle. A man’s life is long and hard, like that of a slave. How he longs for the day to end. How he grinds on to the end of the week and his wages. And so to me also have been allotted months of frustration, these long and weary nights. When I go to bed I think, ‘Oh, that it were morning,’ and then I toss till dawn.

As you go through life, you will always be safe and never fall. When you lie down, you will not be afraid. When you rest, your sleep will be peaceful. You have no reason to fear a sudden disaster or the destruction that comes to the wicked.
Against The Works of Darkness
There are both physical and spiritual works of darkness. If you haven’t noticed, we are living in dark times where sin is covering this earth like a blanket. As believers, we cannot participate in the works of darkness. We belong to the light and not the dark. We represent Christ who is the True Light. The dawn is about to break and Christ is soon to come. Let us not be found operating in the deeds of darkness.

Father In The Name of Jesus,
We thank you for this time to come before your presence during this fourth watch of the night. As we enter into this watch, protect us Father from the workers of iniquity who hunt and seek the souls of man. We bind the spirit of divination including witchcraft, magic, astral projection, new age practices. Let every plan, plot, scheme and unfruitful work of darkness be destroyed and the enemy be thrown into confusion.
Thank you Father for Your divine favor and protection. We receive and wrestle for the release of Your blessings upon our lives. Thank you for awaken us each morning with Your resurrection life and breathing the breath of life into us. When we fall spiritually, you lift and revive us back to life. We say thank you for Your grace and mercy. Help us Lord to learn how to commune with you and hold fast to Your word during these dark time. We know that the night is upon us and we want to be found awake, alert and watching for your return at the breaking of dawn. Help us Lord to keep our focus on you and to walk in Your light.
Anything that is not like you Father, we take off. We take off the works of darkness and put on the armour of light. As we prepare ourselves for the dawning of day, help us to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom for a witness to all the nations. Let not our light be hid or dim but let it shine for all to see You. Let us be wise as serpents and gentle as doves as we prepare for the master to return.

After this 3am – 6am prayer watch, we are embarking on a new day with brand new mercies from the Lord. Sing praises to the Lord. This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. Satan is looking to fill our mind in the morning with doubt, worry, evil thoughts, financial issues, health concerns, family problems, fear and the concerns of the world. When we take time out of our early morning to give our first fruit of time, the Lord will honor our sacrifice and direct our steps for that day.

SPIKENARD
Also called nard, nardin, and muskroot. Can be crushed and distilled into an intensely aromatic amber-colored essential oil, which is very thick in consistency. The oil was known in ancient times and was part of the Ayurvedic herbal tradition of India.
